Latest NewsAmbassador Jing Quan says the actions of media in China are not related to government. 24th July 2026By:Jerry S. TanTHE Chinese government cannot and has no control over everything that comes out in the media. Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan said: “There are so many media in China. We cannot ask each media, each video, each article, each paper… to try to control… no no no. ”The statement was made in response to questions regarding the controversial China Daily editorial that showed a monkey wearing barong tagalog in apparent depiction of Filipinos. “It’s just the media’s, you know, action and it’s nothing related to government. And there are so many media in China. We cannot comment on that,” he added. Also, Ambassador Jing commented on the July 20 Ayungin Shoal incident, expressing belief that it will not affect the negotiations regarding the Code of Conduct aimed at avoiding any turmoil in the disputed waters. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) claimed aggression in the West Philippine Sea on the part of the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) personnel, saying an officer from the Philippine Navy (PN) sustained head injury allegedly after being struck with a wooden baton by CCG personnel who allegedly attacked the PN’s rubber boats, even damaging one of them. On the other hand, the China Coast Guard (CCG) also released a footage of the said encounter. It claimed that Philippine personnel aboard the BRP Sierra Madre provoked the confrontation by ignoring warnings, ramming a CCG patrol boat and attacking Chinese personnel. According to the Chinese Embassy in Manila, the CCG acted with “maximum rationality and restraint,” and urged the Philippines to stop what it described as “rights violations and provocations. ”In an interview, Ambassador Jing said that “our people found your soldiers building some kind of barrier nets. They’re doing some kind of construction work in the ship so we sent two boats to check what happened. ”He added: “That is against the spirit of our provisional agreeement, that is, no new construction, keep the status quo. Okay, we agree to the resupply agreement but we found out they’re doing something new. ”On Tuesday, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. summoned Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan to Malacañang. The meeting was described by Ambassador Jing as “very constructive,” as both sides focused on solutions, adding that “no exchange of very strong words against each other. I think it’s kind of useful, constructive kind of in-depth exchange of views. It’s not kind of a diplomatic protest and a demarche, pointing fingers at each other. ”Post Views:2You May Also LikeMost ReadLatest News
