After a prolonged period of underperformance, healthcare has caught a bid recently, closing June 13. 31% higherto be the top performing sector of the 11 on the Aussie bourse for the month. The renewed momentum is now facing its first real test, with quarterly updates showing whether the recovery has been supported by improving clinical progress, commercial traction and financial performance. While broader market volatility and ongoing macroeconomic pressures continue to weigh on investor sentiment, results suggest there are reasons for optimism, with several healthcare companies reporting meaningful milestones. Entropy Neurodynamics (ASX:ENP)Entropy Neurodynamics has highlighted significant clinical progress during the June quarter, completing Cohort 1 dosing in its Phase II trial of lead IV-infused psilocin candidate TRP-8803 for treatment-resistant binge eating disorder (BED). Post-quarter, Entropy reported topline Cohort 1 results showing 50% of patients achieved clinical remission and all patients recorded a clinically meaningful response. The company said the result provided the world’s first clinical validation of precision controlled IV psilocin. During the quarter, an independent Data Safety Monitoring Board recommended the trial progress to Cohort 2 without protocol modifications after reviewing favourable safety and tolerability data. Recruitment for Cohort 2 has since been completed, with topline results expected in Q4 CY26. Entropy also announced breakthrough Phase IIa data for oral psilocybin candidate TRP-8802 in treatment-resistant IBS, demonstrating a 75% clinically meaningful response rate. The company filed a new US provisional patent application covering the use of TRP-8803 for IBS to expand its IP portfolio. The company ended the June quarter with $8. 2 million in cash and funding facilities, providing financial flexibility to continue advancing its clinical programs. Lumos Diagnostics (ASX:LDX)Lumos Diagnostics has capped off a strong FY26 with growing US adoption of its rapid point-of-care (POC) finger-prick blood test, to distinguish whether an acute respiratory infection (ARI) is bacterial or viral. The company posted unaudited total FY26 revenue of US$13. 2 million, up 6% on the prior corresponding period, driven by a sharp increase in FebriDx sales, which surged 875% YoY following its US commercial rollout. FebriDx received a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waiver in March from the US FDA, enabling the test to be deployed across more than 300,000 US healthcare settings. Lumos said more than 170 healthcare locations across 24 states were now actively ordering and using the test as its commercial rollout gains momentum. During the Q4 FY26, Lumos also received US$5m in CLIA waiver milestone payments from its exclusive distribution agreement with Phase Scientific. The company also reached another milestone in its BARDA-funded paediatric FebriDx CLIA waiver study, enrolling 250 patients. During the quarter cash receipts of US$1. 7m from government grants and tax incentives, with US$1. 2m in milestone payments from BARDA and US$500,000 from the Australian Government’s R&D tax incentive. Meanwhile, development work on its Hologic foetal fibronectin (fFN) project continued through Phases two and three, including additional scope that has extended the expected completion date to June 2028. Financially, Lumos generated operating cash inflow of US$2. 7m during the quarter, supported by higher customer receipts, and finished the period with a cash balance of US$15. 4m. LTR Pharma (ASX:LTP)LTR Pharma made significant progress during the June quarter as it moved closer to a planned US launch of its intranasal erectile dysfunction treatment Roxus, while continuing to advance its lead therapy Spontan for the same condition. Designed for the US, Roxus uses the same proprietary intranasal delivery platform as Spontan to deliver vardenafil, a PDE5 inhibitor used in oral ED treatments, as a rapid-onset nasal spray. While Spontan is progressing through the FDA approval process, Roxus is intended to reach patients sooner via the US 503A personalised medicine pathway. Interim results from the Phase II Spontan study released in May reinforced its rapid-acting profile, with patients reaching peak drug concentration in a median of 10 minutes compared to 60 minutes for oral vardenafil with final results expected in Q3 CY26. On the commercial front, LTR completed key partnerships needed to support the US rollout of Roxus. During the quarter it signed binding agreements with men’s health telehealth platform Shed and pharmacy provider Strive, with both arrangements converted into definitive long-form agreements shortly after quarter end. The Shed agreement includes a performance target of at least 150,000 Roxus prescription units during the first 12 months following launch. Strive will exclusively compound, package and distribute the treatment through the U. S. Section 503A personalised medicine pathway. LTR also broadened the potential of its proprietary intranasal delivery platform after Oroflow received Human Research Ethics Committee approval for an investigator-led study in patients with oesophageal motility disorders. The trial, expected to start during Q3 CY26, will investigate whether intranasal PDE5 inhibitor therapy can improve swallowing function and reduce chest pain associated with the condition. Financially, the company finished the quarter with $19. 6m in cash and no debt. TrivarX (ASX:TRI)TrivarX made progress preparing its Stabl-Im imaging platform for a Phase I clinic trial during the June quarter, while reshaping its development strategy under new CEO Dr Danielle Meyrick. Appointed on June 1, Meyrick brings more than 20 years’ experience in clinical development, regulatory affairs and isotope-based technologies. As part of preparations for the planned Phase I clinical feasibility study, TrivarX engaged specialist contract research organisation Beyond Drug Development to support trial protocol development, regulatory submissions and site activities. Clinical trial preparations continued to progress, including protocol development, regulatory documentation, site engagement, formulation and other start-up activities. Stabl-Im is designed to provide biologically meaningful information on tumour activity, cell proliferation and treatment response using stable isotopes and existing MRI infrastructure, without the use of radioactive tracers. TrivarX is targeting start of the Stabl-Im Phase I clinical program in H2 CY26, subject to completion of regulatory, ethics, site and operational requirements. Post quarter, the company secured the investigational product needed for the Phase I trial of Stabl-lm. Meanwhile, the company said spending on its mental health technologies will be limited to maintaining relevant IP, while continuing to explore opportunities to maximise their value through partnerships, licensing or other strategic transactions. TrivarX ended the quarter with cash reserves of $2. 44m, which it said provides funding for its planned near-term development activities. This article does not constitute financial product advice.
