The two sites bolster Brett’s existing operations at Newhaven and Portsmouth, creating a more comprehensive distribution network capable of supplying customers along the South Coast while extending the company’s reach towards the M25 corridor. Under the expanded network, Chichester Rail Siding will primarily supply rock and secondary aggregate products, while Shoreham Wharf will focus on marine aggregates and ready-mixed concrete. Together, the facilities will enable Brett to provide a broader range of construction materials through strategically located distribution points across the region. Brett Aggregates managing director Phil Coupland said the additions build on the established role both sites have played in supplying construction materials. “We’re delighted to welcome these locations into the Brett Group. Both Chichester and Shoreham have long played an important role in supplying materials to construction projects, and we’re looking forward to building on that strong foundation,”Coupland said. Coupland said the investment would improve product availability while strengthening the company’s regional presence. “For our customers, it’s about having access to the right products in the right place at the right time. For our team, it’s an opportunity to strengthen our presence across the South Coast and up towards the M25, and to continue delivering the high standards of service and reliability that Brett is known for,”he said. Beyond increasing market coverage, the new sites are expected to support greater use of rail and marine freight for aggregate movements. By shifting more material transport from road to rail and water, Brett aims to improve supply efficiency while reducing heavy vehicle movements across the region. The latest expansion continues Brett’s long-term investment in marine and rail-connected infrastructure. The company has progressively developed its South Coast logistics network in recent years, including the opening of its Portsmouth marine aggregatesterminal, to improve access to locally supplied construction materials and support more sustainable freight transport.
