Bulgaria has expressed solidarity with Poland after a Russian missile violated Polish airspace, reaffirming its commitment to NATO’s collective security and defense policy. In a statement published on X, Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the country stands firmly with its ally following the incident. “We reaffirm our commitment to NATO’s policy of deterrence and defense and stand shoulder to shoulder with our allies and partners in protecting European and Euro-Atlantic security,” the ministry said. The Foreign Ministry also stressed that diplomacy remains the only path toward ending the conflict. “De-escalation and diplomacy are indispensable for achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” the statement added. The reaction came after Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Poland had summoned the Russian ambassador over the incident. “Today, the Polish Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian ambassador in connection with the missile that hit Polish territory yesterday,” Tusk wrote on X. Polish authorities determined that the object which landed in eastern Poland on Thursday was a Russian missile after investigators discovered a crater and scattered debris in an uninhabited area near the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia in the Lublin Voivodeship.
