Press Release – Transport Well NZTransport Well NZ Charitable Trust Joins the National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) Network. TheTransport Well NZ Charitable Trusthas announced a significant new partnership withAustralia’s National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP), strengthening collaboration across the Tasman to improve workplace road safety and reduce harm within the heavy vehicle industry. The partnership has been formally endorsed through a letter of support from the Independent Chair of the National Road Safety Partnership Program, confirming Transport Well’s inclusion within the NRSPP’s collaborative network of leading road safety organisations. The agreement recognises the strong alignment between the two organisations, both of which are committed to building a collaborative ecosystem of evidence-based resources, practical tools and educational content designed to improve the safety of people who work on and around New Zealand and Australian roads. Transport Well Trustee Carol McGeady said the partnership represents an important milestone for New Zealand’s transport industry. “This partnership recognises that road safety challenges don’t stop at national borders. By working together, we can share knowledge, avoid duplication, and ensure transport operators have access to practical, evidence-based resources that improve safety outcomes across both countries. ”(Photo/Supplied)One of the key benefits of the collaboration is the ability to share existing resources rather than duplicate development, ensuring valuable funding is invested where it delivers the greatest benefit. With road safety funding becoming increasingly limited, the partnership will enable both organisations to maximise the value of their investment by jointly developing and sharing proven resources. The NRSPP has established Memoranda of Understanding with several leading road safety organisations throughout Australia, and Transport Well now becomes the first New Zealand organisation to join this collaborative ecosystem. The first stage of the partnership will see the NRSPP’s Heavy Vehicle Toolbox Talks integrated into the Transport Well online portal, giving New Zealand transport operators free access to additional practical safety resources. The partnership is also expected to create future opportunities for shared research, educational materials, workplace safety initiatives and industry engagement programmes that benefit both Australian and New Zealand heavy vehicle operators. Independent Chair of the National Road Safety Partnership Program Prof. Jude Charlton, welcomed the collaboration, noting the long-standing relationship between the two countries. “Australia and New Zealand have a long history of supporting one another and working closely together. We are delighted to extend that partnership into workplace road safety by welcoming Transport Well into the NRSPP ecosystem. Together we can help protect heavy vehicle operators and the communities in which they operate. ”The announcement aligns closely with Transport Well’s vision of becoming New Zealand’s leading transport safety knowledge hub, bringing together practical industry guidance, research, training resources and best practice tools in one accessible location. Recent initiatives including, TruckSafe Safety Management System, HARMfree Transport and Logistics Program, and the NZ work force strategy Careers in Transport programme demonstrate the Trust’s commitment to creating freely accessible resources and programs that improve safety, wellbeing and professionalism throughout the transport sector. Carol McGeady said the partnership reinforces the importance of collaboration across the transport industry. “No single organisation has all the answers to improving road and workplace safety. By working together, sharing knowledge and learning from one another, we can build stronger safety cultures and deliver better outcomes for transport businesses, their workers and the wider community. ”The Transport Well NZ Charitable Trust expects the first shared NRSPP resources to become available through its online portal in the coming months, with further collaborative projects already being explored.
