Press Release – Lotto New ZealandMillionaire Money Match was launched last month and is the first Instant Kiwi online game to offer a $1 million prize since the games were introduced to MyLotto in 2017. A Tasman woman has become the first person to win $1 million on an Instant Kiwi online game after a spontaneous decision to play on MyLotto turned her into an instant millionaire. Millionaire Money Match was launched last month and is the first Instant Kiwi online game to offer a $1 million prize since the games were introduced to MyLotto in 2017. Prior to last week’s win, the largest prize won on Instant Kiwi online was $200,000. The winner said she logged into the MyLotto app last Thursday morning to buy a ticket for Saturday’s $40 million Powerball draw. With a bit of money spare in her online account, she decided to try the $15 Millionaire Money Match game. Moments later, she was staring at a message telling her she’d won $1 million. “I couldn’t believe it – I didn’t know how to react – whether I should laugh, cry or scream,” said the woman. “I don’t usually play the online Instant Kiwi games – and I actually only saw it because I bought a ticket for Powerball because the jackpot was so big. “I saw the game and thought I’d give it a go, never expecting to win this much – when it said I had won $1 million, I thought, ‘No… this can’t be right’. ”She immediately called Lotto NZ to check. The rest of the day was spent trying to come to terms with becoming an instant millionaire – and convincing her family she wasn’t joking. “I was walking around my house in a daze just thinking, ‘How did that even happen? I’m a millionaire now’,” she said. “My family thought I was playing a prank on them. ”Lotto NZ Head of Corporate Communications Will Hine says the win is a significant milestone for the game. “We’re excited to celebrate our first ever Instant Kiwi online millionaire. “While $1 million prizes have previously been won in-store on our Instant Kiwi scratchies, this is the first time we’ve had an online winner claim a prize that big. ”While the winner is still deciding what to do with her windfall, one thing definitely on her wish list is a brand new ‘dream car’. Notes:The $1 million was won on the $15 Millionaire Money Match game on Thursday 23 July 2026. The Millionaire Money Match Instant Kiwi online game launched on 9 June 2026. The winner would like to remain anonymous and does not wish to provide further comment at this stage. Instant Kiwi online games are only for people aged 18 or over. Prizes for Instant Kiwi online games are always available at the time of purchase, no matter how many times they have been won before. This differs from Instant Kiwi in-store games, which have a set number of prizes. Instant Kiwi online games all have their own odds. Content Sourced fromscoop. co. nzOriginal url
