Press Release – MBIEThe latest data (as at 11. 59pm on 1 July) shows stocks were at 46. 1 days supply for petrol; 44. 5 days for diesel; and 53. 6 days for jet fuel. The fuel supply chain continues to operate smoothly, with fuel flowing into the country as expected. Fuel importers have provided good confidence in their forward supplies, with planned orders extending into late September. Overall fuel stocks remain well above minimum requirements. The latest data (as at 11. 59pm on 1 July) shows stocks were at 46. 1 days’ supply for petrol; 44. 5 days for diesel; and 53. 6 days for jet fuel. Since the last update, petrol stocks have decreased by 3. 0 days, diesel stocks have decreased by 3. 0 days, and jet fuel stocks have decreased by 2. 4 days. These movements are routine and consistent with typical shipping patterns and are what we would expect even without the conflict in the Middle East. Note: The diesel stock and shipping data on this page does not include the strategic diesel reserve purchased by Z Energy under an agreement with the Government (the first shipment of which has arrived in New Zealand, with the second enroute).
