Press Release – MBIEThe latest data (as at 11. 59pm on 5 July) shows stocks were at 50. 6 days supply for petrol; 48. 8 days for diesel; and 50. 8 days for jet fuel. The fuel supply chain continues to operate smoothly, with fuel flowing into the country as expected. Fuel importers have provided good confidence in their forward supplies, with planned orders extending into late September. Overall fuel stocks remain well above minimum requirements. These movements are routine and consistent with typical shipping patterns and are what we would expect even without the conflict in the Middle East. The latest data (as at 11. 59pm on 5 July) shows stocks were at 50. 6 days’ supply for petrol; 48. 8 days for diesel; and 50. 8 days for jet fuel. Since the last update, petrol stocks have increased by 4. 5 days, diesel stocks have increased by 4. 3 days, and jet fuel stocks have decreased by 2. 8 days. The diesel stock data does not include the strategic diesel reserve purchased by Z Energy under an agreement with the Government (the first shipment of which has arrived in New Zealand, with the second enroute).
