Cellecor Signs Preliminary Deal for First Overseas Manufacturing Hub, Eyes Liberia as Gateway to West Africa

New Delhi, 19 August 2026:CellecorGadgets Limited(“Cellecor”),one of India’s fastest-growing homegrown consumer electronics brands, has taken a strategic step towards establishing itsfirstmanufacturingfootprint outside India. The Company’soverseasstep-down subsidiary has entered intoPreliminaryHeads of Terms with theLiberiaSpecial Economic Zone Development Company (LSEZDC)for a proposedmanufacturingand assembly facility in theBuchanan Special Economic Zone, Grand Bassa County,Liberia. TheLiberiaSpecial Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA), a statutory authority of the Government ofLiberia, signed the document as witness and acknowledged its support in principle for the proposed project. The proposed project marks a new chapter inCellecor‘s evolution. Having built a diversified consumer technology portfolio spanningSmart TVs, Washing Machines, Party Speakers, Air Conditioners, Fans and Coolers, Smartphones, Feature Phones, Small Kitchen Appliances (Mixer Grinders, Blenders, Electric Kettles, Rice Cookers and Induction Cookers), Small Domestic Appliances (Irons, Heaters, Geysers, Personal Care Products, Pedestal Fans and Ceiling Fans), and Tablets, the company is now evaluating the next step in its value chain: developingmanufacturingand assembly capabilities and extending its platform beyond India. Cellecor‘s business has been built around a straightforward consumer proposition of combining innovation, functionality and affordability across a wide range of price points, and theLiberiainitiative is intended to extend that proposition intomanufacturing, localisation, regional distribution and market expansion from an African base. The facility is presently envisaged across approximately15 acreswithin the Buchanan Special Economic Zone and is intended to supportmanufacturingand assembly, testing and quality control, packaging, warehousing and logistics, the export of finished and semi-finished products, and training and skills development. The move comes asAfricaenters a new phase of digital and technology-led growth. Mobile technologies and services contributed approximatelyUSD 240 billiontoAfrica‘s economy in 2025, equivalent to7. 8% of the continent’s GDP, a figure GSMA projects will rise to approximatelyUSD 290 billion by 2030. Affordability remains a significant barrier to wider digital adoption across the continent, creating room for accessible, value-led consumer technology, the space in whichCellecorhas built its India business. Liberia‘s position on the Atlantic coast givesCellecora potentialgatewayto the widerWestAfrican region, home to more than400 million people across 15 countries. LSEZA has identified electronics assembly andmanufacturingas a specific opportunity for the country, and local production of this kind is expected to shorten supply chains, reduce logistics costs and create employment across the region. Commenting on the development,Mr. Ravi Agarwal, Managing Director,CellecorGadgets Limited, said: “Cellecorwas built on the belief that technology should be accessible, relevant and affordable. Our proposed entry intoAfricatakes that philosophy into a new geography and, importantly, into a new part of the value chain. We are not looking atLiberiasimply as a market; we are exploring the opportunity to build amanufacturingand regional platform from whichCellecorcan participate inAfrica‘s long-term consumer technology growth. ”The initiative will now progress through technical planning, feasibility assessment, site development and regulatory engagement, as the parties work towards finalising the facility configuration, product portfolio, manufacturingmodel and implementation roadmap. If it proceeds, the project is expected to contribute to local employment, technical capability development andmanufacturingcapacity inLiberia, while givingCellecora potential base for further expansion across African markets. ForCellecor, the initiative represents more than an entry into a new geography. It reflects the Company’s ambition to evolve from an Indian consumer technology brand into a more geographically diversified business, withmanufacturingand market capabilities that extend beyond India.
