Published 10:30 am Friday, July 10, 2026DANVILLE, Ky. — Community members will have an opportunity later this month to check in on their health at a free screening event hosted by Ephraim McDowell Health. The health system will offer complimentary screenings from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. July 21 at the McDowell Wellness Center, 1107 Ben Ali Drive in Danville. The event is open to adults 18 and older, and appointments are not required. The screenings are designed to provide participants with a snapshot of several key health indicators while connecting them with healthcare professionals who can help explain the results. Services available during the event include blood pressure, cholesterol and A1C screenings, body composition measurements and mental health assessments. Individuals age 45 and older will also be able to pick up take-home colorectal cancer screening kits. After completing the screenings, participants will have the opportunity to review their results with a licensed health professional and ask questions about their overall health and wellness. According to information provided by Ephraim McDowell Health, the event is intended to encourage preventive care by making routine health screenings easily accessible to the community. “Summer is the perfect time to check in on your health and wellness goals,” McDowell Wellness Center Director Dee Minor said in a news release. “Whether you’re managing a chronic condition or simply curious about your current health status, these screenings can provide important insight and resources. ”Routine screenings can help identify potential health concerns before symptoms develop, allowing individuals to make informed decisions about lifestyle changes or seek additional medical care when needed. Ephraim McDowell Health said the event is free and open to the public, with walk-ins welcome throughout the three-hour screening period. No advance registration is necessary. Those seeking additional information may contact the health system’s Community Service Department at (859) 239-3562.
