Feminine Star Africa donates sports equipment to schools in Ho to grow girls’ football

, jerseys, boots, training bibs and water bottles to selected schools in the Ho Municipality in support of the development of girls’ football in schools. The donation was made at the Women First Symposium held inHo. Girls from OLA Senior High School participated in the first session, the Soccer Clinic, where they were taken through drills on teamwork and leadership by international coach Michael Stewart. The symposium, organized by Feminine Star Africa in collaboration with Leadership Solutions, brought together female students to learn life skills through sport. At the clinic, Coach Stewart engaged the girls in practical sessions focused on movement, communication, decision-making, and playing as a team. The drills were designed to help the students “think and move” on the pitch while building confidence both in sport and in life. Coach Stewart further encouraged the girls to be intentional both on and off the pitch. “Football is not just about kicking the ball. It’s about how you think and how you move. If you learn to communicate, support each other, and lead on the field, you will lead in life too,”* he told the students. The Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Stephen Adom, presented the items to participating schools. Representatives from Feminine Star Africa said the initiative forms part of efforts to create more opportunities for girls to play football at the school level and to encourage participation in the sport across the Volta Region. The beneficiary schools included Ho Bankoe RC Girls, OLA Senior High School, Ho United, Mawuli Senior High School, and Mawuko Girls, among others. School authorities and students expressed appreciation for the support, saying it will motivate more girls to take up football and represent their schools in competitions. The Women First Symposium is expected to continue with more sports clinics and mentorship programs aimed at empowering young girls and women through sports and leadership training.
