It’s not like shaving would suddenly reveal a handsome guy hiding under that beard, so I think growing it out isn’t a bad choice. 메기같아— 빈둥 (@bean_ning)June 21, 2026The artist’s take and the marketing boostYedam himself has seemingly taken the chaos in stride, reportedly saying he appreciates the reactions — even the negative ones — because they’re all helping to promote his latest music. the level of virality yedam got for simply growing a beard is truly something marketing teams can only dream of 🤭it really helped promote SAY MY NAME, and it doesn’t matter what people say about it either because yedam said he likes even the criticism 😆pic. twitter. com/4UBfjmuOey— pearl 🦊🕶 (@junypearl)June 21, 2026From trainee to solo artistYedam’s visual and musical transformation is a far cry from where he started. After seven years of training at YG Entertainment, he debuted with TREASURE in 2020 before departing in late 2022 to pursue solo activities and producing on his own terms. He signed with GF Entertainment in 2023 and released his debut mini-album Only One shortly after. Now, between a genre-bending alter ego, award nominations, and a beard breaking the internet, Bang Yedam is very much making a name for himself.
