GB business preparing to offer equity stake to Bahamians

Heroic Concrete and Concrete Products is preparing to offer Bahamians an opportunity to own a stake in the company, unveiling plans for future equity participation as part of a broader campaign aimed at encouraging greater investment in local businesses. The Grand Bahama-based manufacturer announced yesterday that eligible contractors, developers and customers will receive the first right of refusal to become shareholders through its planned Heroic Builders Circle program, as the company continues to expand. The proposed equity opportunity forms part of the company’s newly launched “Heroic Is All of Us” national campaign, which seeks to encourage Bahamians to support locally-owned businesses and recognize the role they play in strengthening the domestic economy. The Builders Circle has been designed as a loyalty and partnership program that will offer contractors exclusive pricing, educational resources, and eventually, the opportunity to participate in the company’s long-term growth through equity ownership. Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer Glennett Fowler said the campaign is intended to promote investment in Bahamian enterprise rather than simply sell building materials. “’Heroic Is All Of Us’ isn’t about asking people to buy concrete,” Fowler said. “It’s about asking Bahamians to believe in one another. Every time we choose a Bahamian business, we invest in families, entrepreneurs, skilled workers and the future of our country. “Concrete is simply the product we manufacture. Building a stronger Bahamas is the purpose that drives everything we do. ”The company said the campaign is built around the idea that supporting Bahamian businesses helps create jobs, strengthens communities and keeps investment circulating within the local economy. Over the coming months, “Heroic Is All of Us” will include television advertising, digital storytelling, community initiatives, employee profiles, contractor success stories and educational content highlighting Bahamian businesses and workers. Heroic also announced the launch of “From the Ground Up”, a social media educational series designed to guide prospective homeowners through the construction process, from purchasing land and budgeting to selecting materials and managing contractors. The company said the various initiatives are intended to extend its role beyond supplying construction materials by helping Bahamians build wealth through home ownership, entrepreneurship and, eventually, business ownership. “Heroic believes the future of The Bahamas will not be built by government alone, nor by businesses alone,” the company said. “It will be built by millions of everyday decisions made by Bahamians who choose to invest in one another. ”
