GK Energy kicked off FY27 on a strong note, posting robust double-digit growth in both revenue and profitability, with its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business emerging as the clear growth driver during the June quarter. The company reported a consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 505. 19 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, marking a 55. 5% jump over Rs 324. 79 crore reported in the corresponding period last year. Revenue also grew around 6% sequentially from Rs 476. 76 crore, indicating sustained execution momentum despite the seasonally softer first quarter. The Pune-based firm has differentiated itself from competition with its asset-light model, and has certaoinly delivered so far. Strong Topline PerformanceProfitability mirrored the strong topline performance. Profit before tax (PBT) rose to Rs 80. 26 crore, up nearly 59% year-on-year, while net profit climbed to Rs 59. 65 crore from Rs 37. 31 crore in the year-ago period. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, however, PAT remained largely unchanged at around Rs 59 crore, suggesting that higher execution costs offset much of the gains from increased revenues. The company's total expenditure increased to Rs 428. 38 crore during the quarter, compared to Rs 275. 88 crore a year earlier, largely tracking the sharp rise in business volumes. Cost of goods sold remained the biggest expense at Rs 364. 62 crore, while installation and project administration expenses stood at Rs 43. 25 crore, reflecting the execution-heavy nature of GK Energy's operations. One of the more notable trends in the quarterly performance was the changing business mix. While GK Energy reports two operating segments—its core EPC business and trading of DCR solar cells and other products—the June quarter was almost entirely driven by EPC execution. EPC Biz Takes The Lion's ShareThe EPC division accounted for the company's entire operating revenue of Rs 505. 19 crore, while the trading segment recorded no revenue during the quarter. This marks a sharp shift from the March quarter, when trading had contributed Rs 58. 19 crore to the topline. The shift indicates that the company's growth is increasingly being fuelled by project execution rather than product trading—a positive development, considering EPC contracts typically offer greater revenue visibility and stronger long-term business sustainability. Segment profitability also reflected the trend. The EPC business generated a segment profit of Rs 84. 99 crore, taking total segment profit to the same level. Although this was lower than the Rs 97. 57 crore reported in the preceding quarter, the decline largely reflects the absence of trading income rather than any deterioration in the company's core EPC operations. The balance sheet also expanded during the quarter as execution picked up. Total assets increased to Rs 1,495. 76 crore at the end of June from Rs 1,305. 27 crore three months earlier, pointing towards higher working capital deployment as projects progressed. Total liabilities also rose in tandem. No Deviation From IPO ProceedsSeparately, GK Energy said there has been no deviation in the utilisation of IPO proceeds, with the funds continuing to be earmarked for long-term working capital requirements and general corporate purposes. The Board also recommended a final dividend of Rs 0. 50 per equity share of face value Rs 2 for FY26, subject to shareholders' approval at the forthcoming annual general meeting. Overall, the June quarter underlines GK Energy's growing dependence on its EPC business, with execution-led growth helping the company deliver strong year-on-year gains in revenue and earnings. While margins remained largely steady amid rising project costs, the continued expansion in the EPC portfolio suggests the company has entered FY27 with healthy operational momentum.
