Howatson+Company: Domain’s Matterport drops buyers into prospective homes at humorous momentsAugust 3, 2026“Walk through” a home at any time. Australian property search platform, Domain, has launched Matterport, a 3D property tour experience with the promise, “the open home is always open”. Howatson+Company introduces the new features with a series of humorous films in which prospective buyers “drop in” virtually to inspect people’s homes. The campaign shows how buyers can explore a property anywhere, anytime, without the timing constraints of a physical inspection. The revolutionary way of showcasing and inspecting properties at scale, allows buyers to ‘walk through’ a home, understand its layout and flow, precisely measure any part of the room and remove furniture at the click of a button. Richard Shaw, deputy chief creative officer, Howatson+Company, stated, “The innovation from Domain sells itself, it’s an unbelievable advantage when it comes to inspections. We brought Domain’s distinctive tone to the films to show it – which enjoyably meant a man in his pants ‘measures twice, cuts once’, and a group of ladies taking a ‘very thorough’ interest in doorway dimensions over a game of cards. It’s a fun way to demonstrate a very real benefit. ”Aisling Finch, chief marketing and communications officer, Domain, added, “Buying property is one of life’s biggest decisions, which is why we’re focused on creating experiences that help people feel informed and confident at every stage of the journey. Open homes are an important part of the process, but they don’t always fit around busy schedules. Matterport gives buyers the flexibility to explore properties on their own terms. The campaign brings that benefit to life in a distinctly Domain way, using humour and unexpected virtual drop ins to show that with Matterport, the open home is always open. ”The campaign is running across film, OOH, BVOD, social, digital and product, with integrations and amplification across major media properties such as The Block, the NRL Finals Series, and NRL and AFL Grand Finals.
