IH says Clinton Home Health services to resume on Sunday - The Ashcroft-Cache Creek Journal

Published 4:38 pm Saturday, August 15, 2026Interior Health (IH) has announced that Home Health services will resume in the Clinton area on Sunday, Aug. 16. Services were suspended on July 24 due to wildfire-related risks associated with the Pear Lake and Fiftynine Creek fires. However, on Aug. 15, evacuation orders covering the Village of Clinton and 373 properties in Thompson-Nicola Regional District Area “E” were downgraded to evacuation alerts, meaning many many people are returning home. Residents requiring Home Health services can call 1-800-707-8550 starting at 8 a. m. on Sunday, Aug. 16 to book an appointment. IH notes that the Clinton Health and Wellness Centre remains closed at this time. IH will provide an update on a reopening date as soon as possible. Residents returning to Clinton are encouraged to access the Resiliency Centre at the Clinton Curling Club, located at 1419 Kellow Lane. The centre offers a range of information, supports, and recovery resources to help community members during the transition home and throughout the recovery process, including free N95 respiratory masks. The centre will be open on Sunday and Monday from 8:30 a. m. to 5 p. m. , with ongoing hours to be announced early next week. Residents can visit the centre in person or call 778-583-0334. IH continues to closely monitor wildfire activity in the Interior in consultation with municipalities, regional districts, and the BC Wildfire Service to keep staff, patients, and clients safe. Residents requiring urgent same-day care can access services at the Ashcroft Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC), located at 700 Ash-Cache Creek Highway in Ashcroft. Patients are encouraged to call 250-453-2211 in advance to discuss their care needs and arrange an appointment where possible. For non-emergency health care questions, call 811. This free service is available to all B. C. residents 24/7, and enables people to speak with a medical professional, who can give advice about your condition or symptoms. Those requiring support during this crisis are encouraged to call the BC Crisis Line at 310-6789 (no area code needed). For information on safely returning home after a wildfire, visit Interior Health’sReturning Home After Wildfire webpage.
