Approaching £100 million in turnover and operating from six offices across the UK, Kings Secure Technologies (KST) serves customers across a wide range of sectors. Covering everything from security systems and services to life safety systems, the independent security, fire, and risk management firm is a leader in its field. Led by CEOBob Forsyth, the company has spent the last four years focused on organic growth, while continuing to broaden its service offering. That strategy has helped transform both the scale and diversity of the business. Diverse OfferingIn 2026, KST’s market position looks very different from just a few years ago. Historically, retail accounted for the majority of revenues, but today, Kings Secure Technologies serves a far broader customer base. “Six years ago, the business was 80% retail and 20% other,” says Bob. “Today, it’s around 85% other and 15% retail. We’ve got a very diverse offering covering multiple business streams. ”The breadth of KST’s provision is one of the organisation’s defining strengths. Unlike many competitors that specialise in a single discipline, the company operates across multiple areas of security, risk and compliance, while delivering most services through its own dedicated teams. “We have over 50 services that we can provide to customers,” Bob states. “The majority of those services are in-house driven. ”KST proudly operates its own European-standard monitoring centre in Birmingham, alongside dedicated fire, systems, guarding, mobile security and compliance divisions. ItsQuidvisRisksoftware platform adds another layer of capability, providing digital tools for fire risk assessments, fire door inspections,Martyn’s Lawpreparedness and compartmentation management. “We can create a complete solution utilising only our own services,” Bob explains. “Not many companies can do that. ”An ability to self-deliver gives customers a single partner capable of managing complex security and compliance requirements under one roof. It also creates greater control over quality, service standards and long-term support. Beyond SecurityTechnology is becoming an increasingly important part of KST’s growth story. One of the most significant developments has been its move into cloud-based security solutions through a partnership with Eagle Eye Networks, recently rebranded asBrivo. What began as an exploration of cloud technology has quickly become a major growth area. “We’ve gone from doing very little cloud work to circa £2 million per annum of cloud networking and cloud security,” says Bob. Kings Secure Technologies has built a concept calledBeyond Security, designed to help customers extract greater value from security infrastructure. Rather than simply monitoring threats, cloud-connected systems can generate operational insights that improve decision-making and efficiency. With KST technology, clients can analyse customer flow and occupancy patterns, while other organisations can use cloud-connected systems to support compliance, operational performance and asset management. KST is currently working with fuel forecourt operators to develop solutions around electric vehicle charging and unmanned fuel sales infrastructure. Using cloud technologies and advanced analytics, customers can monitor forecourt activity and gain insights that would be difficult to achieve with traditional security systems. “We’re looking to take cameras and security functionality ‘beyond security’, providing more uses and solutions for our customers,” Bob reports. “Partnerships will play a central role in making that possible. ”As an integrator rather than a manufacturer, KST depends on relationships with leading technology providers. Bob believes those partnerships must create value for everyone involved. “My view on partnerships is that it is a two-way street,” he says. “You’ve got to really try and ensure that the partner is feeling valued in the arrangement. ”Alongside Brivo, KST works with a wide range of established and emerging technology providers, includingHoneywell,GentandPermaconn. The company actively seeks innovative products that challenge established approaches, while maintaining reliability and long-term customer support. “We work with the very best in class,” Bob says. “We have always embraced new products, new opportunities and new innovation. ”Investment in TechnologyRecently, artificial intelligence has become an area attracting significant investment from Kings Secure Technologies. While much public discussion focuses on AI-enabled security technologies, the company is applying artificial intelligence across both customer-facing services and internal operations. “We are utilising AI quite heavily, particularly to enhance our back-office functionality,” Bob remarks. “We are proud to have appointed a skilledChief Strategy Officerto lead AI implementation and identify opportunities across the organisation. ”AI tools are already supporting legal reviews, bid management, sales processes, and HR functions. Contract analysis that once required lengthy manual review can now be completed far more efficiently, helping to save both time and cost. At the same time, KST is also trialling voice-agent technology within its call centre environment. “We’re looking at moving into AI around voice agents for incoming and outgoing calls,” Bob reveals. However, behind every technology investment sits a strong focus on people. Despite operating at significant scale, KST has worked hard to maintain a culture that feels personal rather than corporate. “People are always your number one asset,” Bob declares. “Everything runs off the back of someone doing their job well. ”The business employs approximately 1,200 – 1,300 colleagues and hasinvested heavily in employee wellbeing, development and recognition. Initiatives include private healthcare, employee forums, staff surveys, ambassador awards and dedicated training programmes. A learning management system introduced during the past year provides structured development pathways for employees looking to advance their careers at KST. It has also helped to attract younger talent. “Two years ago, we only had 40 colleagues under 25,” Bob points out. “Today, we’ve got over 100. “Investment in training and development is helping to create opportunities for those entering the industry, while supporting existing employees seeking progression. ”Looking AheadLooking ahead, software will play an increasingly important role in the company’s future. The QuidvisRisk platform currently supports several compliance disciplines, but plans are already underway to expand its functionality into areas including asbestos surveys, asset collection, and broader compliance management. International growth is also on the agenda. “We want to expand internationally, gaining a foothold in the US and various other countries,” Bob comments. “We are already active in around 20 countries through our software offering, but there is significant potential across untapped markets including Asia, Middle East and beyond. ”Meanwhile, new legislation is creating further opportunities. Through a partnership withCT STEP, Kings Secure Technologies has developed new software capabilities designed to help organisations prepare for compliance requirements associated with Martyn’s Law. Taken together, the strategy reflects a business determined to broaden its reach while remaining focused on practical customer outcomes. “We will likely exceed £100 million in the next 12 months,” Bob concludes. “After that, I’d really like to get the group on the journey to £200 million over the next three to five years, with organic growth, new business investments and strategic acquisitions. ”With a growing software portfolio, expanding international ambitions, and one of the most comprehensive service offerings on the market, KST appears well positioned to do just that.
