A senior European People's Party (EPP) representative said the European Union should maintain its trade agreement with the United States and avoid overreacting to statements by U. S. That's why it's good that we have the deal now," he said. He argued that the European Union should also recognize its own economic strength, noting that the bloc's 450 million consumers make it the largest external market for the United States. Responding to a question about whether the EU should abandon the agreement if Trump follows through with new tariffs, the politician said the bloc should preserve the deal. "We want to keep the deal, and I would advise us not to react to every tweet and every message from Donald Trump," he said. He also called on the EU to expand trade partnerships with other countries, highlighting agreements with Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan and the Mercosur bloc. According to him, growing trade challenges with both the United States and China make it increasingly important for the EU to strengthen ties with partners that support rules-based and values-based international trade. "There's a huge opportunity now for the biggest market in the world, and that is the European Union," he added. News. AzBy Faig Mahmudov
