Ginger once dubbed Margaret Thatcher as "the first Spice Girl" during a 1996 interview with The Spectator. ‌Geri declared: "We Spice Girlsare true Thatcherites. Thatcher was the firstSpice Girl, the pioneer of our ideology – Girl Power," however, Mel later refuted the idea that all five members were admirers of the former Tory Prime Minister. ‌Speaking to Louis Theroux on his podcast, she said that "even saying the name Margaret Thatcher" fills her with "dread. I think we all feel like that. There might be times we choose not to work in that arena, but we're still Spice Girls. "When Louis asked about any plans for their 30th anniversary this year, Mel responded: "We want to. Everything's in discussion. But it's a really positive time for us.
