Odisha government signs a three-year health MoU with Piramal Foundation and Tata Steel Foundation covering all 30 districts and 4. 19 crore people. The Odisha government has entered into a three-year partnership with Piramal Foundation and Tata Steel Foundation to strengthen public health systems across the state, with the collaboration covering all 30 districts and an estimated 4. 19 crore people. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Bhubaneswar, between the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha, Piramal Foundation and Tata Steel Foundation. Under the district-wise arrangement, Piramal Foundation will work across 14 districts, while Tata Steel Foundation will support initiatives in 16 districts. The partnership will work with existing state and district health structures rather than operate as a parallel delivery system. The programme will prioritise Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N), along with tuberculosis and malaria. Its broader objectives include improving planning, monitoring, governance, institutional capacity and the quality of last-mile healthcare. The collaboration will also focus on leadership development, human resources for health, supply-chain management, health financing and stronger accountability mechanisms. Data-driven decision-making and digital or innovative approaches are expected to support performance monitoring, identification of gaps and more targeted implementation.
