FileBy DAVE DOMESCIK | Staff WriterPELHAM– A Pelham manufacturer with a history dating back more than a century is entering a new chapter after being acquired by an Indiana-based industrial company. Jones Bearing Co. , which manufactures mounted roller bearings and power transmission components, has been purchased by Standard Locknut, a Westfield, Indiana, company that produces industrial bearing accessories and operates as a Tonka Bay partner company. Current owners Andy and Mat Adams said they believe the acquisition positions Jones Bearing for future growth while preserving the company’s longstanding identity. In a statement, the pair said Standard Locknut’s values align with those of Jones Bearing and expressed confidence in the company’s ability to continue building on its legacy. The Adamses also thanked the company’s employees, customers and business partners for their support over the years, adding that they are pleased the business will move forward under new ownership. Standard Locknut CEO Doug Payne said the acquisition fits the company’s long-term growth strategy, noting that Jones Bearing’s products, customer relationships and reputation complement Standard Locknut’s focus on engineered bearing solutions for heavy industry. Payne said combining the two companies will allow Standard Locknut to expand the products and services it offers customers while strengthening its overall platform. According to the company, Standard Locknut intends to continue operating under the Jones Bearing brand and plans to invest in its future as part of a broader strategy to expand through its nationwide sales and distribution network. Payne also credited Andy and Mat Adams for their collaboration throughout the acquisition process and said the company looks forward to building on the foundation they established. Separately, Standard Locknut recently announced the appointment of Michael Heim as vice president of sales and marketing. Heim earned a bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University and most recently served as global vice president of sales at Regal Rexnord. Dave Domescik is a staff writer with the Shelby County Reporter.
