Plenty to Play For as Boden Hurlers Enter Championship Business End - Ballyboden

There was plenty of action across the adult hurling championships this weekend, with our teams continuing to battle hard as the business end of the season approaches. Senior A: Into the Qualifier PlacesIt was a fantastic result for our Senior As, who recorded an impressive 1-24 to 2-15 victory over Faughs. The win moves the team up to fourth place in the table, putting them into one of the coveted qualifier positions with just two games remaining. The lads now know that there is plenty to play for in the final stages of the group, with St Jude’s next up on 29 August before a final group game against Cuala on 12 September. With qualification firmly in their own hands, the Senior As will be looking to finish the group strongly and secure their place in the next stage. Senior B: Still in the FightThe Senior Bs came up against a strong Naomh Mearnóg side, with goals ultimately proving the difference in the contest. Despite the result, there is plenty of encouragement to take from the campaign so far. This is a young and developing group that has shown plenty of promise and continues to gain valuable experience at this level. Importantly, they remain very much in the qualifying race but they do have two difficult games ahead against the current top two sides. They welcome St Oliver Plunkett’s / ER on 27 August before travelling to face Castleknock on 12 September. Intermediate: Young Team Gaining Valuable ExperienceGoals also proved decisive in the Intermediate championship against Crumlin, but there were plenty of positives for a young Boden side. This group continues to develop and gain valuable championship experience, and the lessons learned from games such as this will stand to them as they progress. With three games still remaining, there is plenty of opportunity to finish the group strongly. The remaining fixtures are:Good Counsel / Liffey Gaels – 29 AugustO’Tooles – 12 SeptemberSt Vincent’s – 26 SeptemberJunior C: Quarter-Final Within ReachThe Junior Cs received a walkover from Naomh Fionnbarra this weekend, giving the team an important boost ahead of their final group game. The result means that a win away to Castleknock on 30 August will secure their place in the quarter-finals. It is all to play for as the Cs head into the final round of the group. Junior E: Five Junior Teams Flying the Boden FlagThis season has seen the club field five Adult hurling teams in championship, a fantastic reflection of the strength and depth within the adult hurling section. Our Junior E team will bring their championship schedule to a close against Setanta on 30 August, having represented the club with great commitment throughout the campaign. With teams competing across the Senior, Intermediate and Junior grades, there is plenty to look forward to as we enter the decisive stages of the championships. The business end is here — and there is plenty to play for across Boden Hurling. 🔵⚪️
