Revanth Reddy to Mark 20 Years in Politics with Thanksgiving Meeting in MidjilTelangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will visit Midjil on July 4 to thank the people who gave him his first electoral victory, as he completes 20 years in public life. The Chief Minister has chosen to mark the milestone by returning to the place where his political journey began in 2006, when he was elected as the Midjil ZPTC member. The event has been planned as a thanksgiving meeting to express gratitude to the people, supporters and senior leaders who backed him at the start of his career. Midjil holds special significance in Revanth Reddy’s political journey. After his victory as ZPTC member, he went on to win the Mahabubnagar Local Authorities’ MLC election as an Independent in 2007. He later joined the Telugu Desam Party and was elected MLA from Kodangal in 2009 and 2014. Following his move to the Congress, he was elected MP from Malkajgiri, served as TPCC president, led the party to victory in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections and assumed office as the Chief Minister on December 7, 2023. According to his close associates, Revanth Reddy has often spoken about the importance of remembering the people and places that shaped his political life. They say he considers Midjil the foundation of his public journey and wanted to return to personally thank those who first placed their trust in him. As part of the visit, the Chief Minister will offer prayers at the Urukonda temple and participate in the foundation-laying ceremony for its development works. He will later join his early associates, senior leaders and supporters for a lunch interaction recalling the early years of his political career. The programme also includes the unveiling of statues of former local leader Gopal Reddy and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar near Midjil. Revanth Reddy will conclude the visit by addressing a public meeting, where he is expected to express his gratitude to the people for their support over the last two decades. The Chief Minister is expected to describe the visit as a tribute to the people who gave him his first political opportunity, saying their blessings and confidence paved the way for his journey from a local public representative to the Chief Minister of Telangana.
