Radha Yadav and Smriti Mandhana (PC: BCCI Women)Team India went through their final practice session ahead of the crucial South Africa clash in Manchester in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. While the entire squad was present, only a few players were seen fine-tuning their skills ahead of the important encounter. Star opener Smriti Mandhana went through her usual batting drills, but Radha Yadav’s batting session also caught the eye. She spent some time working on her power-hitting and looked confident during her stint. Ahead of the Proteas challenge, the biggest question for India remains – how will they replace the injured Shreyanka Patil in the playing XI? The options appear straightforward — either bring in Radha or hand a debut to young leg-spinner Prema Rawat, who has joined the squad as Shreyanka’s replacement. Interestingly, Radha had a lengthy session on Friday, focusing mainly on her bowling in a separate net. Meanwhile, Bharti Fulmali was also seen spending some time in the nets on Saturday. The focus now shifts to match day, with all eyes on India’s team combination. It is a significant game for the Women in Blue as they chase a hat-trick of wins and look to strengthen their chances of reaching the semi-finals. South Africa have already played at Old Trafford, where they suffered a defeat against Australia. For India, however, it will be a fresh challenge at a new venue and an opportunity to put further pressure on the Proteas. The weather is expected to remain warm and pleasant throughout the day, setting the stage for what promises to be a highly competitive contest between two quality sides.
