Selena Gomezand her mother, Mandy Teefey’s, co-foundedmental healthcompany Wondermind Global has been sued by two companies, namely Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC. Per reports, the lawsuit filed by the aggrieved parties, including five investors, claims the pop star and her mother falsified the company's leadership, resources, and infrastructure. The plaintiffs stated that they invested about $1. 2 million in Gomez's firm; however, she did not involve much in the affairs of the company as was expected. The investors also stated in the lawsuit that they were unaware of the issues with Wondermind until an exposé by The Cut published in September 2025. The report remarked Selena Gomez's firm is in a"state of utter disarray. " The Cut's article noted how Selena distanced herself from her mother owing to the latter'ssubstance abuse disorderand gross mismanagement of the company. The damning 2025 report also claimed that Gomez's firm failed to even pay vendors and employees on time. Gomez's mom, Mandy, denied the aforementioned claims of substance abuse and company being in a mess. In the first round of funding, the Selena Gomez firm was seeded with $5 million with VCs like tennis star Serena Williams backing the firm. Plaintiffs in their lawsuit claimed they were duped by promises of prospective corporate partnerships with the likes of JP Morgan and major advertisement deals, among others. The investors expected Wondermind to scale and bring a host of mental health & wellbeing products, including an app and a podcast, among other deliverables. None of that materialized. The lawsuit states“Gomez purported to sign a contract obligating her to perform and then ignored it. The partnerships did not exist. The initiatives never materialized. The app was never built. And for three years, while the company quietly collapsed around them, not one of its founders, officers, or directors said a word to the investors whose money was funding the collapse. ”Wondermind Lawsuit: Former CEO Also Accused of Embezzling FundsBesides Selena Gomez and her mother Mandy Teefey, the lawsuit also names former co-CEO of Wondermind Daniella Pierson. The trio holds 90 percent of the company's share. While Gomez and Teefey have been blamed for shunning their responsibilities toward the company, Pierson has been accused of siphoning company funds to cover her staggering New York City rentals, which reportedly is around $60,000 a month. Pierson is no longer associated with Wondermind since her 2023 exit. She also reacted to the lawsuit, stating that she never used the investor's funds for personal expenses. Neither Wondermind nor Selena Gomez has officially responded to the lawsuit and the media reports.
