Providence, R. I. , July 8, 2026— Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death for women in Southern New England and across the United States. To change that, the American Heart Association, a relentless force changing the future of health for everyone everywhere, is encouraging women to prioritize their heart health. Leading that effort locally is Elizabeth Manchester, partner and chair of the nonprofit & tax-exempt practice at Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP, who is serving as the 2027 co-chair for Southern New England’s Go Red for Women® movement, empowering women to take charge of their heart health while addressing critical gaps in research, education, and care. Go Red for Women is dedicated to helping women lead healthier lives. “Having been on the Executive Leadership Committee for the Go Red for Women campaign, I've learned firsthand the importance of women understanding their risks for heart disease and stroke. The services the American Heart Association focuses on, including education and community outreach, combined with lifesaving research, benefit millions of women. Heart disease has also impacted my family and is a personal cause important to me and my colleagues at Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP,” Manchester said. Despite the threat of cardiovascular disease, less than half of women are aware of its risk. Go Red for Women is committed to closing gaps in access to care and championing a community of support. This year’s Southern New England Go Red for Women campaign will focus on empowering women to act without delay. Life moves fast — careers, calendars, and commitments never slow down. But when it comes to women’s health, delays are no longer an option. Red Means Go: Go get informed, go get screened, and go act for your heart health. Manchester brings deep experience and passion to her role as chair. As a trusted advisor to public charities, private foundations, educational institutions, and mission driven organizations, she helps leaders strengthen governance, compliance, and strategic growth. She is also a frequent speaker on nonprofit governance, charitable giving, and tax compliance. Her longstanding commitment to service focuses on empowering women to prioritize their health and wellbeing and to build stronger, healthier communities across the region. “There is one source of support women can count on — each other. Elizabeth’s unwavering passion and dedication to the Go Red for Women movement is creating a ripple of change in Southern New England,” said Michelle Clark, Executive Director, American Heart Association – Southern New England. “Her leadership, expertise, and personal commitment to this cause are helping us reach more women, families, and communities than ever before. ”Celebrate Go Red for Women’s local achievements at the Southern New England Go Red for Women Luncheon. The date is to be announced. Go Red for Women is nationally sponsored by CVS Health. If you are interested in sponsoring the event or getting involved, please emailFrank. About Go Red for Women®The American Heart Association’s signature initiative, Go Red for Women®, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. While the majority of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. For more than two decades, Go Red for Women has encouraged awareness. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power of women to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them tools they need to lead a heart healthy life. The Go Red for Women movement is nationally sponsored by CVS Health, with additional support from national cause supporters.
