Introducing the Latest Effort of Our“Sick of It! Fix Health Care Now”CampaignWashington, D. C. –This month, Protect Our Care is kicking off “GOP Hot Seat Summer” to hold Republicans’ feet to the fire for ransacking $1 trillion from health care to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. “GOP Hot Seat Summer” is part of our largest grassroots campaign to date,“Sick of It! Fix Health Care Now”, a multi-month effort channeling the frustration of millions of Americans across parties who are fed up with a health care system that has been wrecked by Donald Trump and Republicans for no other reason than to give tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations. As Congress heads home for the August recess, Republicans won’t be able to avoid the anger and consequences of the vote they cast. Protect Our Care will collaborate with state and national partners to hold empty-chair town halls, organize petition drop-offs, host accountability events, and highlight stories from Americans harmed by Republicans’ devastating health care cuts. Protect Our Care President Brad Woodhouse released the following statement:“This August, while Republicans in Congress head home for recess, we’re bringing the fight straight to their doorsteps. While they dodge their constituents in favor of closed-door fundraisers, hoping the anger blows over, we won’t let them off the hook. We’re bringing the hard questions and the real stories of Americans they’ve hurt directly to them. Republicans will feel the heat for every dollar they’ve ripped away from working families, every hospital they’ve forced to close, and every person who has been priced out of their coverage. The American people are sick of the health care crisis Republicans created, and they are going to make their voices heard. ”More on Sick of It!
