The 40-year-old singer revealed she was admitted as an emergency to St John and St Elizabeth Hospital in Central London after experiencing "excruciating" pain. She told fans: "It turns out I have severe bacterial pneumonia, so I've been rather unexpectedly residing in a hospital bed in Central London ever since. "Katie described the ordeal as one of "the most frightening and excruciatingly painful" experiences she had ever endured: "At one point, I was apparently far closer to the edge than I realised. "The star praised the hospital's "extraordinary teams" for their care during her treatment: "The kindness, professionalism and compassion I've experienced has been nothing short of incredible. "Katie's loyal fans flooded her social media with supportive messages after she shared her health update. One follower wrote: "Pneumonia is no joke!" while another said: "I'm so glad that you have recovered and are doing better!"This isn't Katie's first serious health scare - in 2021 she was rushed to hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack.
