e& UAE has activated 1024QAM modulation on its live 5. 5G network, becoming the first operator in the region to deploy the technology on a commercial network as it continues to advance its 5G-Advanced roadmap. According to e& UAE, 1024QAM enables more data to be transmitted with each radio signal, improving spectral efficiency, increasing network capacity and delivering faster download speeds for compatible devices under favourable network conditions. Unlike laboratory demonstrations, the deployment has been activated on the operator’s live commercial network. The milestone builds on e& UAE’s broader 5. 5G evolution, which includes previous deployments such as four-carrier aggregation and commercial U6GHz technologies, while laying the groundwork for future 6G services. “Activating 1024QAM on our live 5. 5G network reflects our commitment to continuously pushing the boundaries of connectivity and delivering meaningful innovations to our customers,” said Marwan Bin Shakar, Acting Chief Technology Officer at e& UAE. “This achievement is not just about faster speeds; it demonstrates how we are maximising spectrum efficiency and preparing our network to support the next generation of AI-driven applications, immersive experiences and advanced enterprise services. ”According to e& UAE, the deployment will enhance the performance of bandwidth-intensive applications while improving overall network efficiency without requiring additional spectrum resources. The company said the latest upgrade supports its long-term strategy of evolving its mobile network infrastructure to meet growing demand for data-intensive services, including AI-enabled applications, cloud services and immersive digital experiences. It also reinforces the operator’s focus on expanding the capabilities of 5G-Advanced ahead of the transition to future 6G networks.
