Sanad Reports Record AED 4. 31 Billion Revenue in H1 2026 - Business Today Middle East

Sanad, the Mubadala-owned global aerospace engineeringand asset management company, reported record financial and operational results for the first half of 2026, posting revenue of AED4. 31 billion, up 35% year on year. The performance was driven by sustained global demand for the company’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, the successful expansion of its Asset Management division, and continued investment in advanced repair capabilities, engine testing and infrastructure. International customers accounted for 99% of total revenue, while Sanad secured eight new commercial agreements worth AED95. 5 million during the first six months of the year, further strengthening its global customer base and supporting local content and in-country value initiatives. As demand grows for integrated engine lifecycle support, Sanad continues to expand beyond traditional MRO services by combining maintenance, repair, testing, asset management and used serviceable material (USM) solutions. The integrated approach enables airlines to maximise engine performance, availability and long-term value. Commenting on the results, Mansoor Janahi, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sanad, said: “The first half of 2026 marks another important milestone in Sanad’s evolution. Despite continued disruptions affecting global supply chains, we delivered strong operational and financial performance driven by our agile strategy. “As airlines increasingly seek partners capable of supporting the entire engine lifecycle, we are expanding beyond traditional MRO to deliver integrated engine solutions that combine maintenance, repair, testing, asset management and technical expertise. Through continued investment in advanced capabilities, infrastructure and our people, we are strengthening operational resilience for our customers while helping shape the future of aerospace from Abu Dhabi. ”Approaching its 40th anniversary next year, Sanad remains focused on expanding its engine support capabilities, strengthening relationships with global customers and investing in next-generation infrastructure to support long-term growth. Over the past two years, the company has invested more than AED800 million in expanding repair capabilities, engine testing infrastructure and next-generation maintenance capacity in the UAE, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global aerospace hub. Among its major investments announced during H1 2026 was a AED480 million Repair Center of Excellence in Al Ain. Scheduled to begin operations by 2030, the 17,600-square-metre facility will consolidate advanced repair capabilities across multiple engine platforms. Sanad also invested more than AED25 million to enhance engine testing infrastructure, completing end-to-end LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B overhaul capability within the UAE and the wider Middle East. Construction also progressed on the company’s GTF Engine MRO Center in Al Ain, which remains on track to begin operations in late 2028. Spanning more than 64,000 square metres, it is expected to become the world’s second-largest GTF engine MRO facility. Work also continued on Sanad’s twin engine test cells project, which will become the region’s largest civil aircraft engine testing facility with capacity for more than 500 engine tests annually. Operational performance remained equally strong during the period. Sanad inducted 120 engines into its MRO network, up 33. 3% year on year, while engine deliveries increased 53. 8%, reflecting improved throughput despite ongoing global supply chain challenges. The company expects annual MRO capacity to reach approximately 300 engine shop visits by the end of 2026. H1 2026 also marked the first full operating period of Sanad’s Asset Management division. During the period, approximately AED165 million was invested in engine acquisitions, repair and rebuild programmes and asset optimisation initiatives. The division acquired 11 additional engines, increasing its portfolio to 17, while launching its Trent 700 rebuild programme and expanding the availability of serviceable engine components to help customers reduce downtime and improve fleet availability. Sanad also strengthened its global customer portfolio by extending its long-term Trent 700 agreement with Rolls-Royce until 2031, expanding both the scope of work and the number of engine shop visits handled at its Abu Dhabi facility. The partnership, which began in 2012, reinforces Sanad’s growing role within Rolls-Royce’s global MRO network. The company also signed new engine maintenance agreements with international carriers, including Lion Air and Air Canada, alongside eight new commercial contracts worth AED95. 5 million during the first half of the year. To support its continued expansion, Sanad increased its workforce by 44% year on year to 898 employees. Emiratisation reached 36. 9%, with UAE nationals now holding 51. 6% of senior leadership positions, while nearly two-thirds of leadership appointments were filled through internal promotions. Entering the second half of 2026, Sanad is building on record financial performance, expanding infrastructure, growing asset management capabilities and a broader international customer base as it advances its ambition to become the world’s fifth-largest independent aircraft engine MRO provider. The company’s momentum has also been recognised across the industry. At the Aviation Achievement Awards 2026, Sanad received the MRO Management Team of the Year and Excellence in Aerospace Infrastructure Development awards, while Managing Director andGroup CEO Mansoor Janahiwas named Aviation Executive of the Year.
