ADS: Random Sampling of Occupancy Functions using Adaptive Delaunay Scaffolding. SIGGRAPH 2026. Several UBC Computer Science researchers will be atSIGGRAPH 2026to present new papers, including a new model for complex surface geometries, a new method for displacement mapping and a new framework for multibody simulation. SIGGRAPH 2026, which takes place this year in Los Angeles, California from July 19-23, ispremier conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques. In addition to the papers, several faculty members have leadershipat the conference or the organization. ProfessorAlla Shefferis an elected member of the ACM SIGGRAPH Organization Executive Committee and a member of the SIGGRAPH Papers Advisory Group. ProfessorDinesh Paiis a reviewer for the conference. Assistant ProfessorPeter Yichen Chenis co-organizing a workshop “Graphics4Science 2026: Graphics for Cross-Scale Reliable Scientific Instruments” on exploring the deep and evolving relationship between computer graphics and science. Dr. Chen is also on the Technical Papers Sorting Team. Adjunct ProfessorNicholas Vining(UBC & NVIDIA) serves on the Technical Papers Committee. Moreover, two former UBC trainees have been recognized asSIGGRAPH Academy Inductees, known as the computer graphics “Hall of Fame. ” The SIGGRAPH Academy honours individuals whose contributions have shaped the field of computer graphics and interactive techniques. Hui Huangis a former UBC PhD student supervised by Professor EmeritusUri Ascher, publishing nearly a dozen papers together as co-authors. Dr. Huang is now Chair Professor and Dean of the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Shenzhen University as well as Founding Director of the Visual Computing Research Center. Dr. Huang has been honoured “for technical contributions to point-set processing and urban-scale reconstruction, and for sustained service to the graphics community. ”“I have had the honour of watching Hui develop from a shy student to a true leader of her faculty inhen and in the field of computer graphics and vision,” says Dr. Ascher. “She is the hardest working scientist that I have ever had theof meeting and she greatly deserves this recognition by SIGGRAPH. ”Hongbo Fuis a former postdoctoral fellow at UBC Computer Science, supervised by Professor Alla Sheffer. Currently, he is a Professor and Acting Head, Division of Arts and Machine Creativity, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Dr. Fu has been recognized “for fundamental contributions to sketch-based modeling and interactive 3D content creation, and for substantial leadership in the graphics community. ”“Even when Hongbo just joined our group here at UBC Computer Science, it was clear that he had the drive and skillset to become an outstanding researcher,” says Dr. Sheffer. The following papers will be presented at the conference:M-ABD: Scalable, Efficient, and Robust Multi-Affine-Body DynamicsZhiyong He, Dewen Guo, Minghao Guo, Yili Zhao, Wojciech Matusik, Hao Su, Chenfanfu Jiang,Peter Yichen Chen, Yin Yang
